A warm welcome to our September edition of TechTalk all the importance of sweeping before using your floorscrubber (510M Sweeper) In these trying times maintaining the cleanliness of your building can be difficult. Daily sanitization of offices and buildings are now the norm. It is essential that all dirt and sand are removed from a surface before you can mop or scrub it. This is where the 510M comes into sweep you off your feet!As highlighted in our video this month, all of our floorscrubbers have a vacuum motor that sucks up any water pushed against the squeegee blade. And as a with a normal vacuum, any large particles not picked up/ swept prior to using your floorscrubber could result in serious damage to your motor. Large objects could either damage your suction hose or burn your vacuum motor out.
This brings us to today’s TechTalk topic: Sweep before you scrub! Pick up any stray pieces of rubbish such as plastic, large leaves or packets. Our 510M sweeper is perfect for cleaning up any stray debris once the large objects are removed! (Did you know that one 510M sweeper does the job of 7 traditional sweepers with a broom?)
Always Pick Up Small Objects
One of the biggest hindrances to most push sweepers is large objects such as leaves and plastic. Although, it may seem insignificant, large objects can cause long- term damage to your sweeper. This is why we recommend that prior to sweeping you ensure that all large pieces of waste are picked up and disposed of first. This would apply to things such as bottles & cans and even pine cones. The procedure for cleaning a surface is as follows:
- Pick up and dispose of any large objects of waste such as bottles and crisp bags
- Sweep the area with your 510M sweeper to mitigate the amount of dirt
- Mop or scrub your floor
- Allow the area to dry properly
